Vertical Balers
MAX-PAK Vertical Balers are known for their tireless work ethic…year after year. The first balers we ever made were Verticals, and we learned how to build them the right way by putting our balers to work in our own recycling facility. With several different models to choose from, MAX-PAK can build a Vertical baler that will fit your budget, space requirements and recycling needs…for many years to come.
MP60HD
- Bales a variety of materials, but is particularly suited for cardboard (OCC) and newspaper (ONP)
- Bale size 30″ x 48″ x 60″
- Bale weights up to 1300 lbs. shredded ONP, and 1150 lbs. for OCC
- MP60HD is available in two models, the efficient MP60HD-10 and the MP60HD-15 for those who need a little more power
- MP60HD-15 produces over 73,500 lbs. packing force at 2600 psi
- Now with Bilingual Digital Touchscreen Controls

The MAX-PAK vertical balers are engineered for performance second to none, but with “ease of use” features that make MAX-PAK the logical choice for your recycling needs.
- Material under pressure for a period of time, will densify 10% more, than simply under momentary pressure. Therefore, a time-delay relay is incorporated to allow the press head to delay for a full 5 seconds, at the bottom of each stroke, before returning to the up position.
- We use 10-inch C-channel side rails and two 12-inch C-channel headers to mount the cylinder. This allows us to achieve a 46:1 ultimate strength ratio. With 75,000 lbs. of down pressure in the bale chamber, the MAX-PAK vertical baler easily, and quickly, breaks down cardboard boxes, and creates dense bales.
- The door open/close mechanism incorporates a 10-inch turnbuckle wheel, joined at two points for ultimate leverage and ease of use.
- All MAX-PAK vertical balers incorporate a self-eject system, making bale removal a snap.
Never, in the history of MAX-PAK, has the base frame of a MAX-PAK baler been bent or distorted.
- The press head is locked against the rear of the baler using a patented roller guide system. This restricts its movement toward the front of the baler under pressure. A six-point guide system restricts lateral movement of the press head in any unintended direction. These precautions ensure the cylinder is not subjected to undue side load, which would shorten its life.
- We were the first to use tube steel to buffer the door. Tube steel is 12 times stronger than C-channel.
- MAX-PAK is the only company to put eight pieces of 4-inch C-channel in the sub-floor of its vertical balers. Others use four (or less), or even just a steel plate.
- The discharge door is made of quarter-inch steel plate, supported by 3-inch square tube steel.
- We use hydraulics built for the 5,000-PSI European standards, but we run them in the 3,000-PSI range. This keeps them cool and allows them to keep running, with very low maintenance, year after year.
MAX-PAK balers are designed and built for superior performance, ease of use, durability and strength, but safety never takes a back seat. When our team of designers and problem solvers take on the design of a new baler, they make sure it far exceeds the minimum standards for stress and pressure. Our culture of “over-designing” our machines creates an incredibly strong and very safe baler.
- Each MAX-PAK baler is designed to far exceed minimum standards for stress and pressure. Our culture of over designing our machines creates an incredibly strong, safe baler.
- Safety interlocks are installed on doors and removable panels so baling automatically stops it the door is opened.
- All MAX-PAK balers have bilingual safety stickers and caution decals.
- All MAX-PAK equipment meet or exceed all applicable OSHA regulations and are built according to ANSI Z 245.5 safety requirements for baling equipment.
- All equipment has provisions for Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures, so the electrical panel and operators can be secured when servicing or inspecting the machine.
